JobMatch Lingua SE
Structured language assessment for working life
JobMatch Lingua SE is a digital Swedish language test that provides a fast and structured language assessment according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), from level A1 to B2. The test measures the ability to understand, speak, read and write Swedish, and provides a clear picture of the person’s language level.
Lingua has been developed for employers who need a simple way to assess Swedish language skills in working life. The test takes approximately 15–30 minutes to complete, and the result is presented immediately after the test has been completed.
The test is suitable for both the public sector and private organisations where clear communication in Swedish is important for quality, safety and service.
JobMatch Lingua has been developed and reviewed together with specialists in language education and evaluated through pilot studies in the public sector.

A fast and efficient screening test
JobMatch Lingua is a screening and assessment test that provides a quick indication of a candidate’s or employee’s language level and the areas they may need to develop.
The test can be used in recruitment, internal language mapping and as support in language development towards CEFR level B2.
Lingua should not be confused with more extensive language tests that can take several hours to complete and are assessed manually. Instead, it is a solution for organisations that need a simpler, quality-assured language test that is easy to administer and where results are presented immediately.
Support for organisations where good Swedish is required
Many organisations need to assess Swedish language skills in a simple, consistent and structured way. This is especially relevant for roles where communication affects quality, safety, service or the customer experience.
JobMatch Lingua can be used in areas such as healthcare and social care, elderly care, home care services, municipal operations, labour market initiatives, customer service, telemarketing, retail, reception and other roles where functional Swedish is important.
Optional control features
As the test is completed online, several control features are available to strengthen test security and reduce the risk of unauthorised assistance. The test administrator chooses which features should be active.
Examples of control features:
- Identification via BankID or Freja eID
- Camera monitoring during the test
- Window monitoring that registers if the test taker leaves the test window
After the test, the administrator can view information about how the control features were followed.
New language requirements in elderly care
For elderly care, the new language requirements mean that many organisations need to begin working with language skills in a more structured way. JobMatch Lingua can be a concrete and simple starting point for managers who want to gain a better overview, create a clear process and work more systematically with Swedish language skills within their organisation.
From 1 July 2026, new language requirements will be introduced in elderly care. The purpose is to strengthen quality, safety and service by ensuring that organisations work towards staff having sufficient knowledge of Swedish.
The Swedish Government assesses that level B2 according to the CEFR corresponds to the level of Swedish relevant for carrying out interventions in elderly care.
JobMatch Lingua can be used as support for organisations that need to map language levels, identify development needs and follow up language development towards B2.
